Susan Maycock's After Rain

Robin Brooks at The Beauty of Books worked directly with visionary writer/photographer Susan Maycock to produce her lovely book After Rain:  (8 1/2” x 8 1/2,”  126 pages)

In her writings, Susan deepens her own understanding—and thus ours—of the four fundamental truths she has found: “Living an intentional life is essential to living a purposeful one. Purpose is essential to a meaningful life. At the heart of meaning is the giving and receiving of love. And through that love we become connected to a greater good, a life larger than our own.” She calls this
Living Upward.

With reverence, vulnerability, and grace, Susan approaches these truths from diverse points, creating short, luminescent teachings imbued with spirit, compassion, love, and truth.

Susan's stunning photography enfolds and enriches each message.

This is truly a magnificent and precious book spoken from one person’s spirit and soul to yours. Upon reading it, you will come away both wiser and inspired.

I continue to get lots of fabulous feedback on the book. At first glance people are taken right in.  And that has much to do with your thoughtful design! Thank you again!

"After rain, everyone expresses true reverence for the gift she has bestowed .... Flowers become vibrant, birds sing ... and we humans, drenched to our skins, dance and laugh in the downpour. Each action is an expression of gratitude and carries within it the impulse to give in return.

"After rain falls in the desert I am humbled by the generosity of her Spirit, for I have received all that I need. And, in turn, I choose to act in kind, offering what is uniquely mine to give. My bounty is part of the one bounty we all share. And as I participate, giving and receiving over and over again, I am, like the rain, essential to the greater good, the abundant spirit of life that generates well-being for all."
